The other day I saw a short part of the TV program called "Fit TV". It rarely has interesting programs, plus for the most part it is for the non fitness oriented public or the same group that fill the seats of baseball, football and basketball games. Some times call fans. What makes me grin is the fat guy they have cooking low carb meals. Anyway the shit that he is serving up is not working for him so why would it work for you. Then there is the female personal trainer, who when not pregnant, is carrying non-fit body fat composition. She looks more like the Avon lady.

Getting to my rant, they featured some poor sucker mr. average, pencil neck geek who wants to add a little bulk and tone up.(what?I did not know he wanted to play music also) So what does this poor sap do? why go to a "big box gym", and enlist the services of a personal trainer. The trainer who is programed to do ask what his goals are and what he wants to accomplish so he can be all he can be. The client insisted that he wants a workout program that is not boring and will keep his intrest so he will continue to be fit.

So what does the personal trainer suggest? give the poor dick the "Globo gym" party line of resistance training, and cardio program.( well they have to do something with all that high priced machines they purchased) So to keep this guy interested in maintaining a fitness program, the client was put on a treadmill, do some bench presses, and lat pull downs. I'm sure this poor sap who spends a few high priced sessions with the trainer and does all these exciting exercises, will be training for the better part of 1 month of that non-sense and will spend more time at Starbucks then the gym.

This is one example that keeps the country in continous fitness decline by an industry that has little to do with fitness, and required to achieve few results. With the thousands of gyms, spas and health clubs in the USA, we should have one of the fittest societies in the world. Look around and see our kids and adults fat as ever and growing in side and numbers. Marvelous, simply marvelous!
